Pests can be taken care of if you do not let them go unnoticed right at the very beginning. Certain actions are must to keep your property, including your garden, free from pests. Imagine your beautiful garden getting spoiled by pests. Your flowers getting eaten by few unknown garden pests! There will be chaos in your garden when pests enter.

Hence, follow certain instructions to keep your garden pest-free:

    • Trim Your Plants

Simply planting new plants and not managing their growth will not allow your plants to grow well. It will also call for more pests that find space in the bushy plants and areas. It is advisable that you trim your plants as and when required to disallow unnecessary growth of bushy leaves or stems.

    • Cut the Grass

Wild grass can grow abruptly from any place that has access for it. Mosquitoes, ants, roaches, beetles, bees and bugs become quite common due to such wild plants or grass. It is, therefore, imperative that you keep cutting the wild grass from your lawn. You can use certain electronic devices to help you as regard this.

    • Clear All Water

Water starts getting accumulated in plates that are kept under the pots. Larvae start breeding in such stagnant water and mosquitoes start breeding in and around such areas. Hence, clear all the water the moment you see it in any plate or pots after watering the plants. Never delay these precautions.

    • Close the Faucets or Garden Water Sprays

If your garden is huge and you have water pipes or fountains and sprays installed; have a habit of checking any water leakage after every use. Any leakage will allow the water to start accumulating in one place thereby making the land too marshy.

    • Use Herbal Pesticides

Chemical pesticides can prove too harsh on certain plants, flowers or vegetation. This can also prove hazardous to your health upon any direct consumption from the garden. Herbal pesticides play a sensitive role and are not harsh on plants, flowers or vegetation.

    • Use Homemade Solutions

Mix vinegar with baking soda and spray it on flowers to avoid bees and beetles. You can also make a combination of a pinch of turmeric powder with vinegar and water and spray it on plants to prevent any pest infestation. Sprinkle little turmeric powder over the soil of plants to avoid ants.

    • Repot Your Plants

It is advisable to change the pots of grown-up plants. Repotting becomes essential if pests have contaminated the soil. This will also change their location and pests like rodents and squirrels get confused. Put them in comfortable sunlight as solar rays kill or repel certain pests automatically.

    • Seal the Holes and Gaps

Any hole or gaps in the garden area is a straight call to the pests. Rodents require a little open gap to make their entry. Once rodents enter your garden area, they start damaging your plants. Use strong sealants to seal all the crevices and gaps in your garden. This step will automatically block all the notorious and stubborn pests.

    • Organize Your Garden

It is very important that you organize everything in your garden. Keep all the necessary garden tools and equipment systematically. Do not allow any clutter there. If you cannot do this on your own; hire a professional who can organize things in your garden and keep it healthy and beautiful. To maintain your garden, some organizational skills are definitely a must.

    • Clean Your Garden

Cleaning is a process that every human must be thorough with. Cleanliness anyplace is a must! Clear off your garden daily of all the rusted and fallen leaves. Sometimes, there are certain leaf-eating pests on them. Clean the passage and wash all your tools after use. Cleanliness also increases the life span of your garden.
